With a great writing style, a feel of a classic, and an interesting story, Black Bottle Man by Craig Russell will captivate and draw you into the pages.
The Good
- Written like a classic book but with more positive redemptive qualities.
- Things Fall Apart or The Great Gatsby, anyone?
- Excellent characters
- I cannot easily explain how well the characters are developed, except to write: go read the book and find out.
- There’s a lot of depth to this story, so that, it needs a few readings—or a solid page study—to figure out the hidden meanings.
- Fascinating premise
- “…if they stay in one place for more than twelve days terrible things happen.”
- I enjoyed trying to piece together the mystery.
- Compounded by the fact that the story line jumps around.
The Bad
- The ending seemed rushed.
The Unsure*
- N/A
*My opinion: what I didn’t care for or do not prefer. This will not lower a rating unless it overly distracts from the story.
If you are looking for a well-written novel with a classic feel, Black Bottle Man will not disappoint.
