A simple and to the point book, Be Affected by Riley Choquette is a must read for any young man looking for practical advice on dating.
The Good
- Easy, quick read
- Practical help/knowledge for the early stages of dating
- Clear-cut examples of how to go about traversing this terrain
- Clarity of message
- Ask a woman on a date, not to hangout
- Helpful for myself
- Although personal helpfulness isn’t a prerequisite for being a good book, well, it can’t hurt.
- Theology of why we date
- “A man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” -Proverbs 18: 22 (HCSB)
- A great ending to the book
- Good grammar
The Bad
- No woman is out of any guy’s league.
- To say so means to put a woman on a pedestal
- At the very least, we are in danger of placing a woman above the Lord.
- No woman (at least, I would argue, the healthy ones) wants to be put on a pedestal.

Throw away I Kissed Dating Goodbye and instead read this book. That book results in confusion, but Be Affect leads to clarity with practical advice on dating.
